Who is Mister Benchmark?

Mark Longo (aka Mister Benchmark) currently serves as the Director of Strategic Initiatives at the California Institute of Technology. In this role, Mark works with development stakeholders to plan, facilitate, and accomplish strategically identified, cross-functional projects and process improvements designed to enhance individual, team, and organizational performance. Mark works across the organization to solve systemic problems, create large-scale efficiencies and put in place new or improved practices identified as "best in class" in the advancement profession.  Areas of focus include benchmarking, change management, strategic projects, annual work planning, and accountability reporting.

Prior to joining Caltech, Mark worked as the Deputy Director of Strategic Development Services at Georgetown University where his responsibilities included overseeing the donor agreement process, development operations, international giving operations, capital projects and gift compliance.  Previously, Mark led the development operations teams at the National Geographic Society and the National Trust for Historic Preservation

Mark has a B.S. in Economics and Finance from Bentley University and a Master's in Leadership from the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University.  Recently, Mark graduated from the Project Management Certificate Program at Caltech's Center for Technology and Management Education.
